Focus on young talent – A day as a trainee at Huber Technik

On the school-free Day of Repentance and Prayer, Huber Technik welcomed interested young professionals to its “One Day as a Trainee” event.

The initiative, launched by IHK und Wirtschaftsjunioren, gives school students a realistic glimpse behind the scenes of various apprenticeship professions.

Four secondary school students got a taste of the profession of construction mechanic and learned about various production areas such as the sheet metal department and final assembly. After a tour of the company with Simon Schrafen, head of the mechanical engineering department and training officer, who organized the “One Day as a Trainee” event, they immediately got to work at the workbench. The young people tried their hand at marking out and punching holes in pieces of metal and at thread tapping. They were able to bend a cell phone stand for themselves. The boys particularly enjoyed watching the welding.

Schrafen, who accompanied the young people throughout the day, sums up: “Our action day was once again a complete success. Of course, something like this always involves a lot of effort and preparation, but we at Huber Technik really enjoy giving young people a taste of working life. We’ll be happy to do it again next year!“ Managing Director Veronika Kamm adds: ”It’s really an uncomplicated way to give young people a taste of different professions. Today, we focused on construction mechanics.”
